After making an unprecedented impact on Indian distance running by establishing the Mumbai Marathon and Delhi Half Marathon, which soon become listed among the world’s most prestigious races at these distances, in 2008 Procam International launched a 10K event in Bengaluru.

In its 13th year now, Bengaluru has been hosting the world's premier 10K run. The event receives universal plaudits from around the globe for its formidable international elite field and also its mass participation, with runners coming from across the country, to compete and enjoy a race that is a perfect synthesis of speed and endurance.

One of the richest races over the 10K distance in the world, and Asia's only gold label race, the Tata Consultancy Services World 10K Bengaluru is among the world’s elite athletics events and has the status of a World Athletics Gold Label Road Race.

The TCSW10K engages runners across all ages and abilities and has seen sporting legends like Carl Lewis, Mike Powell, Marie Jose Perec, Maria Mutola and Arantxa Sanchez embrace the ethos of this event as Ambassadors and get extensively involved with the races and the local community.

Every year, the event is graced by the running elite and previous winners include well-known names like Geoffrey Kamworor (KEN), Andamlak Belihu (ETH), Mosinet Geremew (ETH) and Zersenay Tadese (ERI), and a trio of illustrious Kenyan women runners Agnes Tirop, Peres Jepchirchir and Gladys Cherono.

Over the years, the event has sparked a running revolution in the city of Bengaluru and beyond. More importantly it has led the way for promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.

Beyond impacting many lives by encouraging the running culture and fitter lifestyle, the TCSW10K has been a phenomenal influence on social change and prides itself as the largest sporting philanthropy platform in South India having raised an impressive INR 45.14 crores since its inception.

Bengaluru as a city continues to create new milestones, such as the Rejuvenation of Cubbon Park, and is known for setting new benchmarks that give back to the city through its green initiatives and targeting zero plastic use; concepts put into practice that not only impact on society as a whole but which also create tremendous awareness among the running communities that have adapted to these positive and progressive change.

The city prides itself on providing an inclusive, welcoming environment with strong ties back through history to its own unique culture.
