Dr Lakshmi Roopesh
Dr Lakshmi Roopesh, is a dentist by profession and a runner by passion. She is an entrepreneur running chain of dental clinic in Bangalore by the name “DENTAL DEN”. She is an avid trekker, marathoner, yogi and a philanthropist. She is also a mother of a 10 year old princess, Aadya. She is married to a Malayalam film director, actor and scriptwriter Mr. Roopesh Peethambaran.
A product of prestigious Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (Central Govt residential school run by HRD) She completed BDS from M R Ambedkar Dental College, Bangalore affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in the year 2004. She went ahead to do her Post graduate diploma in Aesthetic dentistry with State University of New York, Buffalo, US. She has also mastered her skills in endodontics including microscopic endodontics under leading endodontics across the world. She has her diploma in Implant dentistry under Osstem, South Korea.
She founded the first branch of Dental Den in March 2010 and today she runs a successful chain of three clinics across Bangalore. She gave her entrepreneurial spirit formal structure through an Executive MBA from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore in the year 2018-2019.
She has been recognized with several professional accolades in her career including the Best Dentist in Bangalore award in the year 2015 by Primetime and the Top Dental Clinics in Bangalore list in the year 2017 by Times of India.
She started running in 2018, more so to fulfill the basic physical fitness requirement from the trekking organization, India Hikes, to go on one of their Himalayan treks. Huffing and puffing to complete 5kms back in 2018 to completing a full marathon(42.195 kms) this January 2023 in Tata Mumbai Marathon, she has come a long way. She has participated in several 10km and 21kms races across India. In September 2022, she completed the toughest and the highest in terms of elevation half marathon in Ladakh. Recently in March she bagged a podium of first runner up in a 10k run in an event called Power run. As of now training for TCS 10K event and then looking forward to take up the challenge of full marathon in Ladakh this year and maybe an ultra marathon by end of the year.
Leadership skills comes naturally to her. She likes to motivate people into fitness. She is a training centre head of one of the locations, Kalyan Nagar, for Jayanagar Jaguars,the largest running academy lead by Coach Promod Deshpande. From 2 runners in May 22, with her able leadership skills and networking has around 30 runners training with her as of today.
She lead an event called Woman-athon on March 12th 2023 to commemorate International women’s day which saw a participation of more than 350 women.
She was also an ambassador for the running event on the occasion of Puneet Rajkumar’s birthday called “Power Run” on March 19th,2023
She has scaled few Himalayan mountains and looking forward to do more in the coming years.
