Bio

Dr. Ranjani Ramanujam, a physician-turned-medical communications specialist, discovered her passion for running several years ago. Her journey began in 2008 when she completed her first 10K race at Procam's Sunfeast World 10K. However, due to the demands of her professional life and being a mother of two, she took a hiatus from regular running for about nine years. In mid-2016, she felt a strong urge to return to running and participated in a relay team event from Bangalore to Mysore, marking a significant turning point in her journey. Since then, Dr. Ranjani has been dedicated to her running pursuits, completing numerous half marathons (HMs) and two full marathons (FMs), with her first marathon being a barefoot one. Her accomplishments include completing her first 50K race in December 2020, earning her the title of an ultramarathoner. Aside from running, Dr. Ranjani is also passionate about cycling and has completed distances of up to 100K. Her involvement in the running community goes beyond personal achievements; she has served as an official pacer in several events organized by Procam and Life Is Calling. Notably, she was part of the TCW10K All Women Pacer Squad for four consecutive years and is currently serving her fifth year. Additionally, she has been appointed as the event ambassador for various running events by Life Is Calling. Driven by her desire to inspire more women to prioritize fitness, Dr. Ranjani actively mentors newcomers to running, aiming to nurture their interest in fitness and make it a sustainable lifestyle choice. She is also pursuing her aspiration to become a triathlete and trains regularly with Team RUNPHORICS, a diverse group of runners, ranging from novices to ultramarathoners and triathletes, in the serene environment of Bangalore University's campus amidst lush greenery. Dr. Ranjani's ultimate goal is to encourage women to embrace fitness as a way of life and provide support to newcomers on their fitness journey.
