Just nine months ago, no one could have predicted the unprecedented impact of COVID-19 on the lives of millions. The global pandemic has effected each and every one of us, in one way or another. As we all pass through consecutive ‘unlock’ phases, it is imperative we take stock, adopt the new normal, repair and restart the healing and rebuilding process.

The TCS World 10K Bengaluru, since its inception, has transcended sport. It has not only etched the story of a fitness revolution in South India but has also created a phenomenal impact and been a catalyst to help bring about a social change.

Humanity in the year 2020 has been tested, and it is time to rise to the clarion call for Resurgence. Resurgence of spirit, hope and belief. There is no denying the power of sport to inspire the individuals raise funds and bring civil society together.

The TCS World 10K Bengaluru 2020 edition will be a digitally supported event. Given that Bengaluru is the technology capital of India and the world, TCS World 10K is going to use technology to reimagine what is possible. It will not be just Namma Bengaluru this time, but Namma Mumbai, Namma London, Namma New York and Namma Berlin this time! The best 10K runners across the continent will participate. Technology will break all barriers and create a unified platform to push each one of us beyond our personal best!

Thousands of citizens from across India and the world can participate; running from the convenience of their respective locations, running with the help of the TCS App. It will be an App enabled run in 2020 and the experience goes beyond a virtual run, aimed at using data to create a shared running experience. Participants can use the TCS App, run the distance chosen and registered for, and record their time any time between 20th and 27th of December 2020.

  • Participants can choose any either of the three race categories – Open 10K and Open 5K and Group Relay 5k/10K. TCS World 10K Bengaluru will create a shared virtual running experience for participants all over the world.

Formats for Group Relays

  • For covering the 10K distance – 4 individuals running 2.5 km each
  • For covering the 10K distance – 5 individuals running 2 km each
  • For covering the 5K distance – 2 individuals running 2.5 km each
  • A runner needs to download and use the TCS App (will be available for download on iOs and Android platforms soon) to record their run. The App will allow participants to do multiple trial runs (so that one can get used to the App), however a participant can choose to do its official TCS WORLD 10K run, basis the run category chosen, anytime, on any one of the days from 20th to 27th December 2020. This one official recorded run will form part of the respective category leaderboard.

  • For the first time, all applicants, irrespective of run category chosen, will get an opportunity to make a top-up donation towards a Common Pool managed by India Cares Foundation (India Cares), at the time of applying for the races itself. The Common pool donations will be equally distributed to participating CSOs less platform charges of 12%
  • Common Pool

  • Participants across run categories are encouraged to make additional donations towards charity (top-up donation) at the time of registration for any race category. The donation amounts will go to India Cares and form part of a Common Pool, to be equally distributed by India Cares amongst all CSOs registered for the Event. Any individual doing a top up donation of Rs. 3000 will receive an ASICS t-shirt and cap.

    Individual Giving has been the strongest pillar of the philanthropy aspect of TCS WORLD 10K since inception. And now, more than ever, the role of individuals and the need to reach out to individuals to support, participate and fundraise/donors, is heightened.

    TCS WORLD 10K 2020 throws open possibilities of reaching out to a larger network of individuals, as participating at this edition of TCS WORLD 10K, and fundraising and donating, is not geography bound – anyone, everyone, from wherever, can be part of this unique edition, to kick start the journey of hope and revival.

    Given below are the ways in which individuals can support and fundraise for CSOs through TCS WORLD 10K 2020. The different levels identified below are basis the amount of funds raised, and thereby the privileges one can get through the event.

    COVID Care Fundraiser

    (Change of name from iCare Fundraiser for this edition)

    This is an individual who sets his/her target and raises funds for the chosen CSO to be best of his/her ability. Where the individual raises a minimum of ₹ 50,000, he/she will be recognized as a a BeyondCOVID Champion.

    Before remitting the amount to respective CSOs, an amount of ₹ 1,000 will be retained by India Cares from the total funds raised by a BeyondCOVID Champion as a donation to service the event’s philanthropy aspect

    All individuals raising funds of more than ₹ 25,000 for their chosen cause and reporting the funds raised to ICFn (along with required proofs) by 9th January 2021 shall be entitled to an ASICS tracksuit.

    Millennial Champion

    An under 18 individual who has decided to raise a minimum of ₹ 50,000/- in donations for a chosen CSO. The Millennial Champion needs to make an upfront contribution of ₹ 2,000/-* at the time of registration in favour of ‘India Cares Foundation’. This will be included in the total minimum amount to be raised by the Millennial Champion.

    Care Champion Silver

    A Care Champion Silver (CCS) is an individual who undertakes to raise a minimum of ₹ 1.25 lakh in donations for a chosen CSO. In order to start the fundraising journey as a CCS, one needs to register with India Cares by making a contribution of ₹ 4,000 in favour of ‘India Cares Foundation’, which will be included in the total minimum amount to be raised by the CCS.

    Care Champion Gold

    A Care Champion Gold (CCG) is an individual who undertakes to raise a minimum of ₹ 2.50 lakh in donations for a chosen CSO. In order to start the fundraising journey as a CCG, one needs to register with India Cares by making a contribution of ₹ 7,000 in favour of ‘India Cares Foundation’, which will be included in the total minimum amount to be raised by the CCG.

    CORPORATE PARTICIPATION

    Engage Employees, Support a Cause, Be Creative & Have Fun!

    The Corporate Cares category is a perfect opportunity to merge the CSR, HR and Marketing objectives of the company through TCS WORLD 10K 2020.

    Companies can choose from any of the CSOs listed with India Cares for the Event, to donate the amount contributed by them. If the company’s preferred CSO is not registered with India Cares, they will be assisted by India Cares for the CSO to complete its registration formalities, and thereby stand to benefit through its association with the Event.

    TCS WORLD 10K 2020 opens up opportunities to expand involvement of employees and any individual associated with the company (employee families, vendors, clients, etc.) can participate in the event as part of the company team, from the convenience of location/s chosen by the participants/company.

    For the 2020 edition, companies can choose as many employees as they want to engage and make a charitable contribution at the rate of ₹ 2,500 per employee to the chosen cause/ CSO/ NGO. Any company with a minimum of 30 employees gets an ASICS t-shirt and cap for each employee.

    The per employee contribution amount by the company as mentioned above, does not include the applicable event entry fees for individual team members. This need to be paid additionally to the Event Promoter depending upon the number of participants fielded by each company, vide Bank Transfer, in favour of ‘Procam International Pvt. Ltd.’.
    Enrolment of individual team members will be done through an online link. India Cares will share the process and link with the SPOC (special point of contact) of the said company. All formalities of registering a corporate team, including payment of donation amount, payment of entry fees and individual team member registrations, must be completed no later than 22nd December 2020.

    India Cares gets 10% of the donated amount to the CSO as mentioned above as a donation for the support provided to the participating CSO and the Company.

    Group Format- Team Work makes the dream work!

    This year, the special merger of Technology and Running, provides us with a Group Format or a Relay! You can assemble a team of 2 or 4 members. You pick a distance thereafter- 2 team members x 2.5km; 2 team members x 5km, 4 team members x 2.5km. You choose the cause you are running for and accordingly see your position on the leaderboard! Top groups receive exclusive goodies and prizes.

    Process to Register a Corporate Cares team

    • Fill the Corporate Cares registration form
    • Choose the CSO/s and the number of employees it will field at TCS WORLD 10K 2020
    • Submit the form along with the cheque at the India Cares Foundation office.
    • Company to transfer the applicable consolidated entry fees of its team members through Bank Transfer to “Procam International Pvt. Ltd.” for the event participation. The amount of total entry fees paid will depend upon the number of team members being fielded by the company.
    • India Cares will share the link to complete the online enrollment of individual team members in the event, once registered the invoice will be generated for run registration fees to be paid to Procam.
    • Registrations begin at 6pm on the 30th of November and end on 23rd December 2020. Final date to pay the applicable entry fees to Procam is on or before 10 January 2021.
