Water Consumption
With the ongoing water crisis we acknowledge the importance of responsible water consumption during the race. Here's how we're implementing optimal water solutions to ensure a successful race for runners while minimizing our environmental impact:
Water Stations
- There will be a total of 5 water stations along the course and at the finish line.
- Each station will provide 250ml water bottles for runners to grab and go.
- We recommend you bring your own bottles. There will be 4, 20-liter water jars.
- You can also refill empty Bisleri bottles you pick up at the water stations, reducing plastic waste.
500ml Water Bottle Distribution:
For additional hydration options, 500ml water bottles will be available at key locations:
- Entry Point - Rajendra Sinhji Army Officers Institute (RSAOI) Cricket Ground: Start your race well-hydrated by grabbing a bottle at the entry point.
- Post-Finish - Kamaraj Road: Replenish after conquering the course with a refreshing bottle at the finish line on Kamaraj Road.
- Post-Refreshments & Medals - Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw Parade Ground: Celebrate your achievement with a cool drink after collecting your refreshments and medals inside the Parade Ground. There's also a dedicated Bisleri water refilling station located within the Parade Ground for convenient refills.
Reduce, Reuse, Replenish!
We encourage participants to bring their own bottles to minimize plastic waste. This also allows you to avoid stopping at water stations, saving precious time during the race
Recycling and Responsible Disposal
- To ensure responsible waste management, bins will be provided along the course along the left side of the road for the convenience and safety of the runners following you.
- After consuming water, please drain any remaining water and dispose of the bottle in the designated bins.
- Leftover water from all water stations will be collected and used for watering plants in nearby areas.
Avoid Littering
- Please do not discard water bottles on the road. This can create a tripping hazard for other runners.
- Use the conveniently placed bins on the left side of the road for a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone!
- 2 KM: Opposite Vidhana Soudha (before the U-Turn)
Second Life for Leftovers: Leftover water from all water stations won't go to waste! It will be collected in large drums strategically placed along the route:
- 4 KM: Cubbon Road outside (St. Andrew's Church)
- 6 KM: Anna Swami Mudaliar Circle
- 7.7 KM: Bhaskaran Road (Army Rock Gate)
- 9 KM: Gangadhar Chetty Road
Any extra, unopened water bottles will be returned to Bisleri, our hydration partner. This ensures responsible disposal and minimizes additional waste.
By following these guidelines, we can ensure a well-hydrated race for all participants while minimizing our environmental impact. Let's run towards a greener future, one stride at a time.
